Los Murales restaurant, The Royal Haciendas

If you are heading for the Riviera Maya this fall, plan an evening of fine dining, art and live music at Los Murales. The Royal Haciendas Executive Chef Yessica Sanchez, Chef Daniel Chimal and his team serve up a selection of dishes that are showstoppers and taste delicious.

The menu celebrates Mediterranean flavors, fresh seafood, prime steaks and dreamy desserts and you’ll soon find your favorites.

In addition to carpaccio and avocado filled with shrimp salad, appetizers include spinach and mushroom cannelloni, spicy octopus, potato with serrano ham, blue cheese and tumaca sauce, and for a touch of Mexico, a tasty blue corn infladita filled with crabmeat.

If you prefer soup and a salad, order the creamiest lobster bisque with a hint of cognac or the traditional clam chowder served in a cob loaf. The list of salads is headed by a Los Murales classic: apple, nut and Roquefort salad or you could go with kale and fruits of the forest with wild mushrooms, figs and almonds.

Pasta choices include lasagna de la nonna, homemade pappardelle with beef ragu and truffle essence, lobster ravioli in pear, nut and blue cheese sauce or langostinos sautéed with mushrooms, onions and garlic in a creamy white wine sauce and served steaming hot with spaghetti

For your main course, how about coconut shrimp with tamarind sauce on the side, spice crusted tuna steak, roast rock Cornish, beef fillet with mushroom ragu, catch of the day or pork ossobuco? As an alternative, order one of the premium selections: a prime steak, Caribbean lobster, or the pistachio-crusted lamb chops, which are sublime.

Order dessert, a specialty coffee or an after-dinner liqueur and savor a magical Los Murales moment.
