HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE

Hurricane Helene is moving away from the Mexican Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico. Winds are at 80 mph/130 km/h with higher gusts and further strengthening is expected. A Tropical Storm Warning and Hurricane Warning are still in effect for Cancun and the surrounding area as far south as Tulum. Cancun and Puerto Morelos are now on Yellow Alert and Playa del Carmen is on Green Alert.

Heavy rain will continue throughout the night and strong wind gusts may still occur in the next few hours. Ocean swells will affect the area for the next couple of days, bringing larger waves, rip tides and a storm surge of between three and five feet.

Royal Resorts implemented its hurricane season protocols at the resorts to keep you safe. Your wellbeing is our top priority, and our team members are well-trained and ready to take great care of you. Please remain at your resort and stay away from the shoreline.
