The Royal Sands

The Royal Sands

The Royal Resorts maintenance teams have the task of keeping the properties in tiptop condition, taking care of issues as they arise during the year and carrying out improvement projects. In the fall, they also work through a program of cleaning, repair, construction, and installation projects scheduled for Maintenance Week.

In September and early October, each resort closes for one week to take care of major projects such as overhauling the air-conditioning system, draining the pools and pump maintenance, carrying out repairs to systems in the machine house, painting, retiling, woodwork restoration and much more.

Maintenance week aside, there are several other projects underway at the resorts this fall. At The Royal Sands, the facades of the buildings in Phase 2 are being painted. Meanwhile, at The Royal Haciendas, the roofs of Buildings A, B1, C1 and C2 are being waterproofed, and painting is in progress in nine buildings in Phase 1, the main lobby and the tennis court building. Work is scheduled for completion by December (weather permitting) and it is the first phase of a larger renovation project.

The building facades are also being repainted and repairs being carried out on decorative features at Grand Residences. This project is ongoing and is scheduled for completion by______.

So, if you are staying with us during the fall, you may see external painting or building crews at times. Every effort is being made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum for the comfort of members and guests.

Safety enhancements

Extra railings and ramps are being installed around the resorts where considered necessary as a safety enhancements. Fire suppression hydrant systems have also been installed at The Royal Sands and The Royal Cancun.
