Palm trees planted on Cancun beaches

Thousands of palm trees donated by a local philanthropist have been planted along the Cancun shoreline from Plaza Forum to Punta Nizuc. As the seedlings grow it is hoped that their roots will help anchor the sand in place and help reduce beach erosion, in addition to providing shade.
