On April 4, The Royal Sands closed its doors on government orders due to the national health emergency. It was the last of the Royal Resorts to do so. The government has now extended the shutdown of all non-essential activities in the public and private sector and the stay at home order imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 until May 30. As a result, all the Royal Resorts will remain closed through May.
It was a sad moment as Royal Resorts has weathered hurricanes, recessions and other global crises and in all our years we have never once had to close all our resorts for such a long period. But now we must pause like you and stay home to protect our families and community.
We have all had our lives turned upside down. Things that we took for granted are suddenly off limits. Many of us are separated from loved ones, concerned about the future.
Although we face an unprecedented challenge we will overcome it together. In the meantime, we urge you to stay safe.
After a three-month renovation, the Kids Club and Activity Center at The Royal Sands reopened on March 16 with a brand-new look.
