Going green at Royal Resorts

We share the news with you whenever new measures are implemented at Royal Resorts to protect the planet. This time it is the turn of the Spa and the Restaurant Division to go green.

The Spa has replaced the plastic products used in body wraps, manicures and pedicures with biodegradable alternatives.

Reusable dispensers have been installed for bath products and plastic bags are no longer given out for wet bathing suits in the wet area.

Last year the Restaurant Division stopped serving plastic straws, substituting them with eco-friendly straws made from avocado pits. Now, they have gone one step further and have eliminated polystyrene cups in the pool area and on the beach, using biodegradable glasses instead.

Previously, 50,000 polystyrene cups a month were used in the bars and pool restaurants, now the monthly consumption of the eco-friendly option is 15,000, a 70 percent reduction.
