Sailing across the bay on board a catamaran, gazing at crystal-clear waters in endless shades of turquoise is the perfect way to begin your Isla Mujeres adventure. Sit back, order a drink from the bar, nibble fruit and cookies and enjoy the view. The Xailing Catamaran Prime and Light tours both include snorkeling at El Meco reef on the way. In addition to corals and colorful fish, El Meco is one of the \u201cgalleries\u201d comprising the Cancun Underwater Art Museum (MUSA). As you swim among the sculptures, you\u2019ll see how they are being transformed by the sea into living art as they are colonized by marine creatures such as sponges, corals, algae, shells and tiny fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Isla Mujeres tours include time at a beach club for sunbathing, swimming and lunch, and they also include time for exploring the island. You can hire a golf cart, bike or taxi (additional charges apply) and visit the bustling fishing village to shop for crafts, jewelry and souvenirs, enjoy more amazing views under the palms at Playa Norte or head to Punta Sur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking in the glorious view of the Caribbean and Cancun\u2019s skyline in the distance on Punta Sur is one of the highlights of a visit to Isla Mujeres. See the tiny Maya temple dedicated to Ixchel, the goddess of the moon, fertility and fishermen. Take a deep breath and listen to the waves and the sigh of the breeze, simply heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Garrafon is a park located on Punta Sur where you can spend the day enjoying the slower pace of island life in a hammock. If you would rather be in the water, go swimming, kayaking, or snorkeling on the offshore reefs. You can even try the thrill of zip lining (additional charges apply). Board the rotating tower during the day for even more spectacular seascapes and beach views. The Royal Garrafon tour takes you to the park and includes time to visit other parts of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there\u2019s still time before your boat departs, you may want to head back to the north of the island for more beach relaxation at Playa Norte. Order a cocktail and fresh seafood at one of the waterfront restaurants before you go. Some boats have music and dancing on the way back to Cancun for more fun or you can just relax and take in the Caribbean sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
