Hurricane Milton is moving away from the Yucatan Peninsula out into the Gulf of Mexico and the threat that this storm posed is receding. It is a cloudy, breezy day in the Mexican Caribbean with stronger wind gusts, showers and possible thunderstorms forecast for the next few hours, but Royal Resorts guests are out enjoying the pools and the activities at The Royal Cancun*, Grand Residences and The Royal Haciendas.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All resort services such as restaurants and bars, the activity centers and kids clubs, Alea Spa, fitness centers, the travel agency and convenience stores are operating normally. The only exception is Heaven Beach Bar at Grand Residences which is closed today. At The Royal Haciendas, beach cleaning is underway to remove debris washed up by the storm.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests can call in at the Thomas More Travel desk at their resort to reconfirm airport transportation if their flight has changed and to find out about parks and other activities in the local area.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope that our guests on property will enjoy the rest of their stay with us, and we are ready to welcome incoming members and guests. As always, there are delicious new dining options for them to discover and new services to enjoy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mexican Caribbean <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the area, the airports are operating normally although there have been some flight cancellations or delays. The ports are closed; ferry service will resume as weather and sea conditions improve and Tren Maya rail departures are suspended until further notice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

     On the Gulf coast, thousands of people were evacuated as Milton approached. Initial reports mention flooding in Celestun on the west coast, but storm damage on the north coast of the Yucatan has yet to be assessed.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our thoughts are with the people of Florida <\/p>\n\n\n\n
