Located in front of San Juan Park, the museum is a fascinating introduction to a colorful world of traditional clothing worn by indigenous groups in different parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Embroidered designs full of symbolism that celebrate nature and ancient beliefs, huipiles or dresses, sashes, capes and shirts worn in daily life and for festivals, ceremonial wooden masks and more are on display and guides are on hand to tell you the story of each garment.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission is a donation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-gallery wp-image-43396\" src=\"https:\/\/www.royalresorts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/uxmal-at-night-845x684.jpg\" alt=\"Uxmal at night\" width=\"845\" height=\"684\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Uxmal at Night<\/h3>\n<p>Uxmal archaeological site has a new evening video mapping display that plays across the ornate carved facades of the ancient temples and palaces and tells the story of the ancient city.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to the previous light and sound show, the new event is also a walking tour of the area around the Pyramid of the Magician and the Nuns Quadrangle.<\/p>\n<p>If you are staying in Uxmal or in Merida, you might want to consider returning to the archaeological site in the evening for the video mapping show.
