It\u2019s the Cancun Marathon<\/strong> on Saturday, December 10! Now in its 32nd year, this night race attracts a field of more than 3,000 international marathon racers and local runners.<\/p>\n

The race starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday and the route followed by the runners covers Malec\u00f3n Tajamar (lagoonside, opposite the Malecon Las Americas Shopping Center), along Bonampak Ave, Calle Antonio Enriquez Savignac (El Table), Kukulcan Boulevard as far as El Mirador (Playa Delfines) at Km 18 and back again.<\/p>\n

The staging of this race and the marathon route will cause disruption to traffic and delays on Friday and Saturday; therefore we recommend that you take this into account when planning dining and other activities.<\/p>\n

\u2022 From 11 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, Ave. the north-south lane of Bonampak Ave. from the Bullring to Nichupte Ave. was closed to traffic and will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

Cancun Marathon Race Day Road Closures, Saturday, December 10<\/strong>
\nOn Saturday, December 10, the following roads in Downtown Cancun and two lanes of Kukulcan Boulevard in the Hotel Zone will also be closed:<\/p>\n

\u2022 At 1 p.m. Sayil Ave. leading to Bonampak Ave. and Nichupt\u00e9 Ave. leading to Bonampak Ave. will be closed.<\/p>\n

\u2022 At 2 p.m. the entrance to the Hotel Zone will be closed to vehicles along with the two lanes of Kukulcan Boulevard next to the lagoon as far as Playa Delfines. The entrance to El Table road will be closed and the intersection of Ave. Bonampak with Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio will also be partially closed.<\/p>\n

\u2022 There will also be road blocks affecting Bonampak Ave. with Cob\u00e1 Ave. and Coba Ave. (North-South traffic circle) and Tulum Ave. with Sayil Ave.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Once the 5 km Fun Run has ended the road block on Bonampak Ave. will be moved as far as Hospiten hospital and vehicles will be diverted towards Tulum Ave. past the Civic Justice Offices.<\/p>\n

If you are going to Downtown Cancun from your resort, please note that all vehicles entering and leaving the Hotel Zone will be using two lanes of Kukulcan Boulevard. Your journey is likely to take longer than normal.<\/p>\n

Vehicles heading for the Hotel Zone and the Airport will take the Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard route.<\/p>\n

If you have any questions please ask at the Front Desk and check with Thomas More Travel if you are departing on Saturday afternoon and have booked your transport to see if there are changes in the departure times from your resort.<\/p>\n

Ahora en su a\u00f1o 32, esta carrera nocturna atrae m\u00e1s de 3,000 competidores internacionales y corredores locales.<\/p>\n

La carrera comienza a las 5 p.m. y la ruta que seguir\u00e1n los corredores cubre Malec\u00f3n Tajamar (Laguna Nichupt\u00e9, frente al Centro Comercial Malec\u00f3n Las Americas), Avenida Bonampak, Calle Antonio Enr\u00edquez Savignac (El Table), Blvd. Kukulc\u00e1n hasta El Mirador (Playa Delfines) a la altura del Km 18 y de regreso.<\/p>\n

El punto de partida de esta carrera y la ruta del marat\u00f3n provocar\u00e1 la interrupci\u00f3n de tr\u00e1fico y retrasos el d\u00eda viernes 9 y s\u00e1bado 10 de diciembre; por lo que le recomendamos tome en cuenta sus tiempos al momento de planear sus actividades.<\/p>\n

\u2022 A partir de las 11 p.m. del d\u00eda jueves 8 de diciembre se cerr\u00f3 el carril de norte a sur de la Av. Bonampak, en el tramo comprendido de la Av. Nichupt\u00e9 a la Plaza de Toros, permaneciendo cerrado ese carril durante todo el d\u00eda viernes.<\/p>\n

Cierre de Avenidas el d\u00eda del Marat\u00f3n, s\u00e1bado 10 de diciembre<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 A 1 p.m. del d\u00eda s\u00e1bado 10 de Diciembre, realizar\u00e1n cierres preventivos de la Av. Sayil con Av. Bonampak y Bonampak con Av. Nichupt\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u2022 A 2 p.m. se cerrar\u00e1 la entrada a la Zona Hotelera, los dos carriles de subida del Boulevard Kukulc\u00e1n (del lado de la laguna) hasta Playa Delfines, la entrada de El Table y se realizar\u00e1 el cierre parcial de la intersecci\u00f3n de la Av. Bonampak con Boulevard Colosio.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cierres preventivos en la Av. Bonampak con Cob\u00e1 (Serviturismo) Tulum y Av. Cob\u00e1 (Glorieta Norte-Sur) y Tulum con Sayil.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Al finalizar el recorrido de la carrera de 5 kil\u00f3metros se mover\u00e1 el dispositivo de cierre hasta el Hospiten y haciendo la desviaci\u00f3n de veh\u00edculos hacia la Av. Tulum pasando por los Juzgados C\u00edvicos.<\/p>\n

Si usted va al centro de Canc\u00fan desde su Resort, tenga en cuenta que todos los veh\u00edculos que entran y salen de la Zona Hotelera van a utilizar dos carriles del Boulevard Kukulc\u00e1n. Es probable que su recorrido tarde m\u00e1s de lo normal.<\/p>\n

El acceso a la Zona Hotelera se realizar\u00e1 por el Boulevard Colosio, rumbo al aeropuerto.<\/p>\n
