Have you tasted the hearty Mexican broth packed full of pork or chicken and hominy called pozole? If not, be sure to try some for lunch on your next trip south of the border. Every Thursday is Pozole Day at Hacienda Sisal and you are in for a treat.<\/p>\n
Choose between pozole rojo, verde or blanco with pork or chicken. The rojo or red variety is flavored with dried guajillo or ancho chilies and comes from Jalisco. The state of Guerrero is famous for verde or green pozole, which includes jalape\u00f1o and poblano chilies, green tomatillos and coriander, and also for blanco or white pozole, which is the broth, meat and hominy. Everyone in Mexico has their own favorite and the tasty soup is a staple during fiestas.<\/p>\n
The best thing about pozole is adding the trimmings, which include coriander, dried oregano, radishes, chopped onion and lettuce, chili piquin and tostadas.<\/p>\n
Combine your pozole with an order of fresh guacamole prepared tableside and one of the Hacienda\u2019s famous margaritas and you are set for the afternoon.<\/p>\n
And there\u2019s much more mouthwatering Mexican cuisine to tempt you on the Hacienda Sisal menu. Try the enchiladas, the tostadas, tacos, empanadas and tlacoyos or choose chicken in mole sauce, carnitas or Mayan-style grilled fish known as tikinxic.<\/p>\n
