Many people refer to it as the <strong>Day out of Time<\/strong>. <strong>This year, celebrations take on even more significance in the lead up to December 21, 2012, when the thirteenth <em>b\u2019aktun<\/em> or cycle in the Mayan calendar draws to a close and a new era begins.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The program of events for the day is as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>8 a.m. <strong>Mayan yoga session<\/strong>, D building, third floor terrace<br \/>\n11 a.m. Head for the beach and <strong>build your own Mayan temple in the sand<\/strong>, Phase I beach<br \/>\n12 noon Test your knowledge of the <strong>Maya with our trivia questions<\/strong>, Phase I sun deck<br \/>\n12 noon <strong>Mayan Craft Market<\/strong>, Phase II Pool Area<br \/>\n3 p.m. <strong>Mayan Warrior contest<\/strong><br \/>\n4 p.m. Learning <strong>Mayan songs<\/strong><br \/>\n6 p.m. <strong>Beach meditation<\/strong><br \/>\n8 p.m. <strong>Mayan Dinner and Show<\/strong>, La Palapa del Sol<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: none;\"><\/div>\n<p>($)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Mayan Market<\/strong><br \/>\nVisit the <strong>Mayan market<\/strong> and shop for <strong>sustainable forest products such as wood and seed jewelry, hand-carved wooden figures<\/strong> of animals and birds, mobiles and lamps, <strong>embroidery, tropical fruit preserves<\/strong> and more made by members of the <strong>Ak Kuxtal Community Alliance<\/strong>, which represents artisans from villages throughout the Zona Maya in central Quintana Roo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Evening Under the Stars<\/strong><br \/>\nThe event will draw to a close with a traditional dinner and a Mayan Show. Linger after dinner and enjoy the sounds of the waves.
