Something Else to Celebrate<\/strong>
\nA special hello goes out to our Canadian<\/strong> friends today who are celebrating Canada Day<\/strong> this July 1<\/strong> and a Happy Fourth of July Weekend<\/strong> greeting to all our friends from the United States.<\/strong> Whether you celebrate it with a BBQ this weekend or a full-blown party on Monday with fireworks and all the trimmings, we hope that you have a wonderful time!<\/p>\n

For Royal Resorts <\/strong>members and guests who will be joining us tomorrow, there will be Independence Day Poolside Cookouts <\/strong>on Monday, July 4<\/strong> at The Royal Sands<\/strong>, The Royal Caribbean<\/strong> and The Royal Cancun<\/strong> from 12 to 4 p.m.<\/strong> and at 6 p.m. in The Royal Haciendas<\/strong> for a BBQ Buffet.<\/strong> We look forward to seeing you there.<\/p>\n

If it rains, the festivities will take place in La Veranda<\/strong>, Tradewinds<\/strong>, La Palapa<\/strong> at The Royal Cancun<\/strong> and La Palapa del Sol<\/strong> at The Royal Haciendas<\/strong> (which will be closed for normal dinner service).<\/p>\n

Bumper Breakfasts<\/strong>
\nThe Royal Resorts<\/strong> chefs have come up with a tasty new breakfast menu<\/strong> full of your International favorites, mouthwatering traditional Mexican recipes from all over the country and some low-calorie options for the diet conscious. Prices start from $85 pesos<\/strong> and you can sample the menu at La Palapa<\/strong> in The Royal Mayan<\/strong> and The Royal Cancun<\/strong> and Cayo Largo<\/strong> at The Royal Islander<\/strong>. For those of you who enjoy our Breakfast Buffets, they are still available in all the restaurants.<\/p>\n

We hope that you try some of the hearty Mexican specialties <\/strong>on the new breakfast menu. Served with freshly made chili salsas in a molcajete<\/em> <\/strong>or traditional mortar and pestle, they are delicious and you\u2019ll soon appreciate why breakfast is such an important meal here in Mexico!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNews for summer visitors, Tradewinds Restaurant <\/strong>at The Royal Caribbean<\/strong> is offering a new Cajun theme night on Mondays. <\/strong>Be sure to try it!<\/p>\n

Royal Resorts Participation in Cancun Turtle Conservation<\/strong>
\nOn June 29,<\/strong> Royal Resorts<\/strong> received a diploma from the Canc\u00fan Municipal Department of Ecology<\/strong> for its participation in the 2010 Turtle Protection Campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Representatives of the Royal Resorts Management<\/strong> team and Security department<\/strong> attended the event, which also featured the final statistics for the 2010 season. City Hall biologists, volunteers and security staff from 53 hotels in Canc\u00fan and Puerto Morelos moved the eggs from 4,346 turtle nests to 46 corrals and a total of 420,551 baby turtles were released.<\/p>\n

Flight Round Up<\/strong>
\nHere\u2019s some more great news for Canc\u00fan from the airline industry.<\/strong> Aeromexico<\/strong> is inaugurating new flights from Miami and New York to Cancun this July<\/strong>, South American carrier Lan will begin flights from Lima and Virgin Atlantic<\/strong> announced that it will be offering a twice-weekly service from London Gatwick to Cancun as of June 2012.<\/strong> On the charter front, Funjet<\/strong> is also expanding its flight network from the United States<\/strong> for the winter season with a new route from St. Louis, starting December 24 to August 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local tourism officials are also optimistic about the possibility of direct flights from the Brazilian cities of Sao Paolo<\/strong> and Rio de Janeiro<\/strong> in the near future.<\/p>\n
