The colonial city of Valladolid recently unveiled two new attractions for visitors to enjoy, a light and sound show and a twice-monthly concert on Saturday evenings.<\/p>\n
The San Bernardino de Sisal Convent is the backdrop for the impressive Noches de la Heroica Valladolid<\/em> video mapping show relating the city\u2019s history. The story begins in the days of the ancient Maya and the coming of the Spaniards in 1543 and moves on to colonial life in the 17th<\/sup> and 18th<\/sup> centuries through to the Caste War in 1847 and La Chispa, the rebellion that was the spark that ignited the Mexican Revolution in 1910. It concludes with a look at the traditions, crafts and cuisine of today\u2019s Valladolid.<\/p>\n The screening is at 8 p.m., Tuesday to Friday and at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday (Yucatan Time, which is one hour behind Cancun and Mexican Caribbean time).<\/p>\n The Plaza de los Heroes, a small garden behind City Hall and next to San Roque Museum plays host to a trova<\/em> guitar concert on Saturday night, every other week.
