Starting at the end of January, a Mayan Ceremony will be staged at sunset in honor of Ixchel, the ancient mother goddess, patron of fertility, childbirth, the moon and tides and weaving.<\/p>\n<p>As the sun sets in the west, more than 30 performers will take to the stage to reenact the ritual venerating Ixchel, on this her sacred island.
