[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Royal Resorts has launched a new campaign called Dollar a Stay to raise money for the charity causes supported by the Royal Resorts Foundation: health and community projects in the local area, the fight against cancer, children\u2019s education, conservation and employee relief in times of serious illness. With a mission to help those in need, change lives and protect rare wildlife, it has already raised over US$146,663, but its work is never done.<\/p>\n

Through the Dollar a Stay fundraising drive, a dollar will now be added to the bill that members and guests pay at checkout and will go towards the Royal Resorts Foundation\u2019s community work. This is an optional donation and guests can choose to contribute more or to request that it is removed.<\/p>\n

To date, the Royal Resorts Foundation has achieved the following:<\/p>\n

Health and community projects<\/h5>\n

Provide cancer screening and life-saving treatment for low-income patients. Donations to Grupo Desafio de Quintana Roo A.C helped nine patients who needed radiotherapy and chemotherapy in 2013-2014.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/1″][vc_raw_html]JTNDcCUzRSUzQ2JyJTJGJTNFJTNDJTJGcCUzRQ==[\/vc_raw_html][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3978″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”150×150″][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Saving the Mayan Jungle<\/h5>\n

Donations to Amigos de Sian Ka\u2019an help protect the Mayan Jungle, its precious wildlife and underground rivers. Through this program, farmers and landowners in communities near El Eden reserve in northern Quintana Roo are receiving environmental services payments in return for committing to preserve the forest on their land instead of clearing it. To date, 400 hectares of forest have been saved using this system. Not only is the forest protected for the rare animals and birds that inhabit it, it represents the capture and storage of 30 percent of the carbon dioxide emissions generated by water production, water treatment plants and pumping in the Benito Juarez municipal district where Cancun is located.[\/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDcCUzRSUzQ2JyJTJGJTNFJTNDJTJGcCUzRQ==[\/vc_raw_html][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3981″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”150×150″][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Employee Emergency Relief Fund<\/h5>\n

Aid to staff coping with grave illnesses such as cancer, major surgery or accidents in the family and to provide care for the terminally ill. In 2013-14, the Royal Resorts Foundation assisted nine employees with serious health problems, including providing surgery for a security guard with a lifelong, and deteriorating, hearing problem, restoring a maid\u2019s sight with a cornea transplant and an intraocular lens implant, an emergency operation for a breast cancer patient, and funding therapy for a child with epilepsy.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_raw_html]JTNDcCUzRSUzQ2JyJTJGJTNFJTNDJTJGcCUzRQ==[\/vc_raw_html][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3984″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”150×150″][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Spreading Happiness campaign<\/h5>\n

From helping host huge children\u2019s parties to raising money to make a sick child\u2019s dream come true, the Royal Resorts Foundation also has a community campaign called Spreading Happiness to bring smiles to the faces of those in need, the sick and the old.<\/p>\n

Four Spreading Happiness events have been organized to date in the period 2013-2014 and they have brought together Royal Resorts employees, members and guests who volunteered to help or donated time, money or gifts:<\/p>\n
