There’s always something delicious in store for you at Royal Resorts and on your next trip you’ll have tempting new menus to try at two of our signature restaurants: Captain’s Cove and Los Murales at The Royal Haciendas.
Captain’s Cove, sunsets and seafood
An evening on the waterfront at Captain’s Cove is always a vacation must and this year you have a variety of new dishes to choose from, plus many all-time seafood favorites. Go with mussels in white wine, carpaccio or ceviche as a starter or choose the pork and cranberry pâté, fried agnolotti or Sicilian-style mushroom arancini with a hint of chipotle.
Main courses include Caribbean lobster, almond-crusted snapper and Mediterranean-style baked fish with roasted bell peppers. Try the seared tuna, coconut shrimp, lobster and shrimp fettuccini or seafood risotto. You can order the catch of the day cooked to order with the sauce of your choice and for meat lovers, there are prime steaks grilled to perfection, pork chops and chicken.
Captain’s Cove is open daily from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Prime Rib Night on Wednesday and Saturday and Lobster Night with live saxophone on Friday.
Los Murales, the art of fine cuisine
Are you staying at The Royal Haciendas this summer? Plan an evening at Los Murales as part of your Riviera Maya dining and discover some of the mouthwatering dishes on the new menu created by Chef Erika Barrios and Royal Resorts Executive Chef Juan Carlos Orozco.
Seafood and steaks are cooked with citrus flavors, chilies and herbs and spices from East and West. The show stopping collection of new dishes features traditional recipes from Mexico and Peru, Galician-style octopus, a hint of tamarind, lemongrass and Sriracha sauce from Thailand.
Appetizers include avocado stuffed with salmon with pink guava dressing, aguachile and blue corn crab turnovers. For vegans and vegetarians, there is a vegetable and tofu phyllo pastry quiche.
Soups and salads range from clam chowder and hearty chilpachole seafood broth from Veracruz to kale and roast mushroom salad and citrus and Roquefort cheese salad with almond praline and goat cheese dressing.
For your main course you may want to choose pistachio-crusted lamb chops, grilled beef fillet with Roquefort-chipotle sauce or Cornish game hen. Order fresh salmon ravioli or tuna steak in a spice crust Seafood dishes run from lobster and the catch of the day to five-chili shrimp, sea bass, grouper and salmon fillet. Prime steaks include the tomahawk for two people, New York, rib eye and t-bone with a choice of side dishes.
Los Murales has always served heavenly desserts and for the perfect finale to a memorable evening of fine food, live guitar music and art, order one of Chef Erika’s masterpieces. Coconut freeze with creamy mousse and pineapple sauce is the taste of the Caribbean. Try the raspberry delight, a tart that pairs the flavors of fresh raspberry and chocolate to perfection with lavender ice cream. The tangy flavors of mandarin orange mousse compliment chocolate sponge, citrus jelly and vanilla sauce in a perfect sphere. Chocolate lovers won’t want to miss the King Chocolate cake. Their favorite flavor reigns supreme, accented by homemade apricot jam and red berry macaroons.
Los Murales is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Closed Monday.
Kinoko: Delicate Asian flavors
And don’t miss the opportunity to dine at Kinoko, the new Asian restaurant at The Royal Haciendas. The menu showcases Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai dishes and you can also order sushi. Or make a reservation for the Teppanyaki or Shabu-shabu Experience for more delicious dining.
